OVERVIEW
This is an enjoyable handbuilt tribute that was created as a caricature of the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours winning 1934 Bugatti Type 59 Sports. The creator was a wooden boat hobby builder that was looking for a new project and inspriation one night - he was smitten with the original car and thought a CycleKart was a great new adventure.
Built using wood and fiberglass like a boat hull, the car is light and strong, and has great attention to details that evoke the tribute to the original car. Every element of the car is one off and handmade - from the headlights (plexiglass heated in an oven to mold the shape after cutting the lines on the backside), hand formed engine cowl louvers, wooden dashboard, to the spare tire cover (engine lid). A fitting homage built with passion.
The car features a 200cc gas engine with a CVT style transmission and is fully functional to be driven around your neighborhood or to join a future CycleKart event. Featuring 17” Honda motorcycle wheels and Michelin tires, the little Bugatti just has the look and scale that makes everyone smile.
