About

Specialty and limited production automobiles.

FOUNDER - Jason Harris

Petrol in the veins and always playing with cars - Jason’s interest in automobiles began at an early age with influence from his father with exposure to air-cooled Porsches and VWs. A high point early in life was the Olympus Rally in 1986 for the final round of the FIA Group B rally cars, which Jason attended with his father. The cars and drivers were bigger than life, and all these decades later…they still are. The event and that era of motorsports have been a cornerstone of Jason’s automotive desires ever since.

During high school and college, Jason worked for a prominent Seattle area car collector named Tom Armstrong that turned the passion up all the way. The six years with Mr. Armstong grew an extensive appreciation for mid-1960s vintage race cars, as well as the 1930s custom coachwork era cars. The collection included rare cars such as a 1956 Jaguar D-Type, a 1963 Corvette Grand Sport, a 1966 Ford GT40, a 1931 Duesenberg SJ, and a 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 among others. To say it was a dream job as a teenager would be an understatement.

As the founder of Northwest European, Jason spends all of his waking moments in the automotive world looking for special cars to acquire and trade. With a personal affinity for motorsport inspired design and history, Jason’s personal collection has ranged from early air-cooled Porsche 911s, through Group A rally homologation specials, vintage trucks, and several Massimo Tamburini design era two wheeled machines – from both Ducati and MV Agusta.

FOCUS

Our focus reflects our personal taste in cars, and our background in both motorsport and concours preparation. The primary acquisition emphasis at Northwest European is on the following automotive genres:

  • Homologation Specials (race/rally) from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s - What is a Homologation Special?

  • Air-cooled Porsche 911 models and modern Porsche GT and RS models

  • Limited Production European sports cars, motorcycles, and race cars from the 1960s through the early 2000s

Additionally, as automotive enthusiasts with an extensive client list, we transact in a variety of specialty and limited production automobiles as you can see in our current and past inventory. We sell the cars our clients want us to sell, as long as they align with our overall interests and meet our quality bar.

We know how to prepare and market cars, and as such clients seek us out to help educate them on their options. From these conversations, clients often ask us to represent their car for sale, which we are happy to do.

PHILOSOPHY

We are by choice a small boutique for great cars. This size means we have the freedom to focus on clients and take the time each transaction requires.

Transparency – We conduct all sales and acquisitions in complete transparency with our clients and customers. This makes for a warm and enjoyable experience and long-lasting relationships. Many of our clients have become some of our closest friends over the years.

Effortlessness – We are able to offer a one stop shop for our clients and customers. For anything we cannot offer in house, we have the proper network of specialists to attend to any needs. We offer market insights, a deep understanding of vehicle preparation/presentation, and professional help in surrounding topics. Ultimately, this makes a client’s life easier whether buying or selling.

Finally, cars are what bring all of us as automotive enthusiasts together, and lifetime friendships are formed. It does not matter if it is a blue chip collectible, an old farm truck, or a weekend racer -- get out and drive, take the long way home, and keep looking for the next road. Never stop playing with cars.

HISTORY

From the beginning in the early 1990s, we have been involved with some of the most wonderful cars in the world. Over the years our scope has broadened, and our knowledge intensified over a growing list of marques - with an ever-growing network of clients and industry professionals.

More formally, we began buying and selling cars in 2008 out of our 6,000 square foot facility in Issaquah, Washington. As the volume of transactions grew, that evolved into a full-time business in 2015 - buying, selling, brokering, and consigning specialty and limited production automobiles.
