OVERVIEW
The Ferrari 275 GTB/4, produced from 1966 to 1968, is a legendary sports car that combines elegant design with exceptional performance. Its sleek Pininfarina-designed body features long lines, a distinctive nose, and a classic rear end. Powered by a 3.3-liter V12 engine delivering 300 horsepower at an impressive 8,000 rpm, It allows for a top speed of around 165 mph. With only about 330 units produced, the 275 GTB/4 is a sought-after collector's item, embodying the essence of classic Italian motoring.
This 275 GTB/4, chassis 10299, was sold new on September 5 of 1967 by Garage Francorchamps in Belgium to its first owner, Petrus Hubert Hendericks of The Netherlands. It was imported into the US in 1969, and by 1977 was owned by famed racing driver and Ferrari dealer Charlie Kemp. Patrick Ottis, notable for his Berkeley, CA-based Ferrari repair shop, purchased chassis 10299 from Mr. Kemp in 1978, keeping the Ferrari until it was sold by Christies to its current owner in 2000.
In current ownership this 275 has been lovingly cared for as a highlight of a significant collection of sports cars. The Ferrari has seen consistent upkeep, which included the replacement of the original leather upholstery (the original material accompanies the car.) The GTB/4 has been displayed at multiple Ferrari Club of America concours events, and driven on numerous rallies, all while being fastidiously looked after by its meticulous owner. Accompanying the Ferrari are manuals, tool and jack kits, as well as a significant documentation file.
Offered from nearly 25 years of careful stewardship, this is no ordinary 275 GTB/4. Its incredible presentation and roster of enthusiast owners set this example apart from more mundane offerings. Regularly used, well-loved, and pristinely presented, this Ferrari is for those collectors that require nothing but the best.
