American Trucks - We Cannot Help Ourselves
1958 Chevrolet Apache Hot Rod
Although this one's not in our normal wheelhouse, we're drawn to high-end, detail-focused examples - so we're excited to offer this Hot Rod, complete with a 533 hp 6.2L LS3 under the hood.
Developed as part of the General Motors line of cars and trucks, the 1958 Chevrolet Apache was the light-duty model offered in the legendary Chevrolet “Task Force” truck series. Standout features included the all-new smooth Fleetside bed, quad headlights and distinctive grille, along with a panoramic wrap around windshield and stylish exterior trim. Widely regarded as one of the best looking pick-up trucks ever built, the Apache sold remarkably well and nearly 70 years later continues to be among the most sought after classic vehicles in the market today.
This Apache pick-up was the subject of a comprehensive restoration and professional build - the theme was one that combined the authentic features of the iconic 1958 Apache with modern upgrades and subtle engineering improvements to build an exceptional hot rod. To manage the impressive horsepower, a rear cross member was installed, the frame strengthened, and a robust 3:70 rear end was fitted. A new LS3 crate motor with Billet Specialties Tru-Trac top mount serpentine system was installed equipped with a Powermaster PowerMAX starter, and the engine topped with a Black Diamond Super Street Series 780 cfm carburetor. The engine was mated to a 700R4 transmission upgraded with a Bowtie Overdrive 2200 Stall HD torque converter and lockup kit.
Today, this truck presents in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition throughout. The build quality is evident at every corner including thoughtful care and service while under the commissioning family ownership. The exterior condition is excellent throughout with glossy two-tone paint that has excellent coverage, smooth and consistent gloss, properly fitted trim, beautiful exterior chrome features, and perfect stance. Two-tone pin stripes traverse the eyebrowed quad headlights and travel the length of the body, terminating at the center of the tailgate above the dual under bumper exhaust tips. The interior does not disappoint, with finishes and custom interior work that has been beautifully crafted and elegantly themed. The pleated brown vinyl bench seat and matching cream stitched headliner, German square weave carpets and matching floor mats, along with an array of gauges bring it all together confidently. In all, the striking colors, hot rod stance, and subtle upgrades make for a dynamic and unique restomod.
