OVERVIEW
While Massimo Tamburini is arguably more known for his design of the Ducati 916, the F4 that followed for MV Agusta was a bike where his pen could flow more freely. Very few concessions were made in what became the late Sr. Tamburini’s swan song of motorcycle design.
The Cagiva four-cylinder motor, originally designed with help from Ferrari, hides some details not normally seen on sport bikes. Featuring radially arranged valves, these valves are actuated by camshafts machined with a slight taper. Power then travels through a removable cassette transmission (with available alternate ratios) indicating the F4's racetrack intent.
The detailing on this motorcycle is over the top – you could stare at the bike for an hour and keep noting more and more unique items. From the organ pipe-esque quad exhaust, to the bespoke designed and patented brake and clutch reservoirs, the turn indicators tucked into the mirrors, to numerous cast and forged parts that are all F4 adorned, it is truly a bike that stops you in your tracks in person.
This specific example here is a one owner bike, coming from the collection of a noted collector in the mid-west. Showing just 78 miles from new, this is arguably the lowest mileage, original F4 in the world. Includes the factory stand and tool kit. Factory delivery sticker remains on headlight.
