OVERVIEW

Newly arrived inventory - details coming soon, brief history and overview below.

History – This 911 was sold new to Richard Wallahora in September ’88 in North Carolina by Jim Ellis Dealership. It traded hands in 1999 and went to Anne LaPenta in Greenwich Connecticut. In 2008 the car went to another woman in New York. She brought the car to the West coast, and after a little use, it went into storage for over a decade before being acquired last year.

Body – Body shows no signs of rust or accident damage. The paint is original with the exception of the driver’s door and LF fender, which had a re-spray at some point in its life – VIN stickers still in place, appears to be cosmetic. Also, the car came originally with a factory whale tail, which appears to have been swapped with a standard ‘flat’ decklid. The original paint shows really well, however it’s getting a little thin in spots. All the glass appears to be original, including the windshield. No leaks. New sunroof seals and felt installed.

Interior and Controls – Super original. 9 out of 10. No cracking in the dash. Seats are great and headliner looks like new. Carpet has wear that is in line with a 35 year old car, but still looks great. New Porsche front floor mats. All the controls function perfectly. Several rubber seals were replaced. A couple of switches were replaced. New Blaupunkt head unit installed, car also comes with original radio. The shifter was fully rebuilt and feels fantastic. A 370mm Momo Prototipo steering wheel, and new steering column bushing was installed. Original steering wheel comes with the car too.

Driveline – The engine and gearbox were removed recently (Akers Porsche, Seattle, WA) for service – this was an $18K+ service. All fluids changed. New clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, throwout bearing, guide tube, cross shaft. New release fork installed. Bellhousing updated with new bushings. All related engine and transmission seals were replaced. New pilot bearing. Fuel lines replaced (due to age). Several engine sensors replaced. New engine cooling fan and housing installed (found a small fracture in the original fan housing). New pulley and belts. Filters and plugs changed. New breather plate gasket. New intake gaskets. New cruise control cable. Axles and CV’s rebuilt. New speed sensor. New heater hoses and clamps. New bell crank bushings. Various rubber breather hoses replaced. New exhaust tip installed. AC compressor replaced, system tested, converted to R134, blows cold. Everything looked over with a careful eye. All factory Porsche parts used.

Suspension and Brakes – No issues. All the bushings, hardpoints, arms, tie rod ends, bars, etc. were inspected. Front wheel bearings adjusted. The right rear anti-roll bar mount was fractured, which then was welded up and reinforced (a common issue on SC’s and Carrera’s). Front and rear brake calipers were rebuilt with new pistons, seals and freshly plated bodies. New rubber flex lines installed front and rear. Fluid changed. New shocks installed. Car was lowered to Euro ride height. New 7 inch and 9 inch Fuchs wheels were installed with new Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires (205/55-16, and 245/45-16).

Electrical System – No issues. New battery installed. Several ground points were cleaned and inspected. All bulbs and switches inspected, and parts replaced where necessary. Fuses and relays removed and cleaned. Alternator was cleaned and tested during engine fan and housing removal. European (amber) rear tail light lenses were installed.

Overall – Other than the two painted panels, an amazingly original car. Everything that was replaced this year in the work was an original part, the car had never been apart before. All factory parts and cosmoline everywhere (that is cosmoline on the bottom of the car in photos, not dirt!). All VIN stickers in place. The motor fires up instantly with no smoke on start up. Power is great. Pulls hard for a stock mill. Transmission shifts well with no issues. Car has no creaks or rattles. This is the last of the G50 transmission cars (only built for a couple years before the factory moved to the 964 model). It’s getting harder and harder to find the G-Bodied cars in unmolested, original condition.

Plus it looks the business sitting correctly on 7s and 9s!
