OVERVIEW

Layered in rich history the “RS” moniker is reserved for Porsche’s best offerings. The RS lineage began with the 1973 Carrera RS and has evolved through the years bringing us tremendous driver focused cars. In the water-cooled Porsche era, the 996 GT3 RS was a track focused machine that was not sold in the USA. The 997 GT3 RS cars continued the use of lightweight materials and brilliant engineering in the search of lower lap times and was heralded as an exceptional driver’s car.

The 997.1 RS was introduced in 2007, followed on by the 997.2 RS cars in 2010/11. The motoring press was over the moon about the car at launch, and as the years have gone by, many still say it is the most driver focused chassis produced, including present day machinery. Commonly referred to as the last great analog Porsche 911, the 997 RS cars were of course only offered with a manual transmission.

The 997.1 GT3 RS was a true limited production vehicle from Porsche.  Just 1,168 units were produced worldwide, with only 410 cars making their way to the United States. There is a reason people gush about them, they really are that good. Get your hands on one however you can – beg, borrow, or steal a ride with a friend to see for yourself.

The exterior condition of this car is extremely nice with the low mileage - just 11,600 from new. Presented in Carrara White, the paint is flawless, smooth, and glossy everywhere. The car previously had a full layer of paint protection film recently removed, leaving the original finish as near new. Lenses, trim, and glass are all near perfect as well, including the new OEM front lip spoiler. Cosmetically the car presents as a top 1% car.

The car was ordered from new as a “Graphic Delete” optioned car - understood to be just one of four in this configuration. To further enhance the subtle theme, the car has (from the factory) silver wheels, body color mirrors, and black end plates on the rear spoiler. Ceramic brakes (PCCB) balance out the package, while providing immense stopping power, a pop of exterior color, and low dust for road use.

The interior is the same overall condition - almost as new. The car was specified with a simple focus again in the interior - Without PCM Navigation on purpose, and without Sport Chrono (no “dash wart”). The seats, steering wheel and shift knob alcantara are all in excellent condition. The common issue with the “sticky” radio buttons has been remedied already during our prep of the car here. There is very minimal scuffing or wear on the door threshold, pedals, and driver’s seat.

Mechanically the car just had an engine oil and filter change in November 2020 along with a new cabin filter. It is ready for backroad drives, or straight into track duty as the new owner sees fit. Offered with factory books/manuals, two original keys, DME report, and a clean Carfax report - this original, low mileage 997.1 GT3 RS is sure to delight.
