OVERVIEW
With decades of racing victories, a bounty of engineering innovations, and award-winning design, the Porsche 911 remains one of the most iconic sports cars ever produced. Offered in a wide range of configurations and tailored to varied driving preferences, the uncompromising performance and comfort features of the 911 continues to attract new generations of enthusiasts to the Porsche brand. Decades of racing expertise and motorsports dominance remain key to the legacy of Porsche performance, impressing legions of dedicated drivers seeking the very best in sports car design and engineering.
Launched at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, the 911 Speedster was built to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Porsche from 1948, when the first Porsche roadster was constructed by just a handful of dedicated engineers and designers. The first car to wear the Porsche name, this sports car would prove to be the formative artifact of the Porsche brand, carrying the Speedster name into production with their first model, the 356.
As anyone might imagine, the 2019 991 generation Speedster was far more advanced and assembled with a host of features based on the GT3 platform and Carrera 4 Cabriolet body with carbon fiber fenders, engine cover, and hood. Equipped with the GT3 4.0L engine, 6-speed manual gearbox, carbon ceramic brakes (PCCB), and titanium exhaust, the Speedster also featured similar design features of the original including a shorter windscreen, hand folding lightweight canvas soft top, and a double fairing rear deck trailing the two seat configuration. As the final iteration of the venerable 991 platform, just 1,948 Speedsters were produced making it not only one of the most important modern open Porsches built but also uniquely positioned as the premier legacy example encompassing the inception of the marque, the innovation of the 356 Speedster, the timelessness of the 911, and the incomparable performance of a Porsche.
According to the window sticker accompanying this 911, this Porsche Speedster, #934/1,948, was special ordered from the factory with the following additional cost-added options:
Custom Color, Non-Metallic Paint
Special Wishes Custom Interior Tailoring
Bose Surround Sound System
Sport Chrono Package
Front Axle Lift System
Extended Range Fuel Tank
Auto-Dimming Mirrors with Integrated Rain Sensor
LED Headlights in Black with PDLS
Steering Column Casing in Leather
Already rare in number, the combined Custom Exterior Color Paint and Special Wishes Interior resulted in a stunning and unique example when it was delivered new to the selling dealer, Manhattan Motorcars, New York, NY. After delivery, this Speedster remained with the selling dealer until it was sold to the first owner in 2020. The car was serviced under the first owner at 3,670 miles at Porsche Atlanta and sold to the second and current owner, a resident of Western Washington, in March 2022. The current owner performed regular services including a fluid service in July 2023 (3,985 miles), and in April 2025 (4,998 miles) a service, along with an engine oil and filter change. While under current ownership, the owner had the brake calipers professionally removed and refinished to match the exterior Bahama Yellow body color – a thoughtful choice that greatly enhances the already impressive appearance of this Speedster.
Stunning from virtually every view, this Speedster presents today in exceptional condition throughout. The captivating Bahama Yellow paint (an original vintage Porsche 911 color) displays excellent color, consistency, and gloss throughout the exterior surface. Still displaying the factory finishes and original body panels, all body surfaces have been covered with professionally installed Protective Paint Film (PPF) protecting all body surfaces. The body panels display crisp factory door, trunk, and hood gaps, excellent fit along the front and rear bumpers, and superb exterior detailing. The lower air dam has been spared any low ramp scuff marks via the factory installed electronically controlled front air lift system. The exterior lenses are vivid and glossy including the LED headlights in black with PDLS. The side glass and windshield are in like-new condition with no notable marks or chips. As a finishing exterior touch, a set of satin black finished center-hub wheels feature Porsche crest center caps backed by massive carbon ceramic ventilated disc brakes topped with multi-piston Bahama Yellow brake calipers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 low profile tires.
The interior is finished with beautifully trimmed black and accented “Special Wishes” leather which has been thoughtfully preserved showing virtually no signs of age on the driver’s seat entry bolster. The carbon bucket seats are trimmed with silver stitching with cloth houndstooth inserts echoing the original seat material from historic 911 models, and have factory applied Bahama Yellow accent pieces at the shoulder harness areas. The door panels, center console, and dashboard contain polished carbon fiber inserts which add a high-tech touch to the two-seat cockpit.
The optional sport chrono clock tops the dash, and special Speedster accents finish off the cabin with details unique to this series of 1,948 cars. The black canvas convertible top raises and lowers via easy manual operation featuring smooth contours that welcome the Speedster lineage of open road driving. In keeping with the original analog spirit of the 356 and 911, the 6-speed manual gearbox shifter is perfectly positioned, finished in black leather and a matching carbon fiber gloss accent.
The 502hp 4.0-liter engine is has been properly maintained with clean components and factory details evident though largely concealed from view in this model. Correct materials and factory finishes are consistent with the low miles as are the correct and original front storage liner, factory treated metal parts, and correct hardware. The chassis displays essentially new and absolutely authentic finishes reflecting restrained use under two owners.
The various operational features, 2-zone climate control, seat adjustments, stereo system, all lighting, and convenience features operate as new, but it is the driving experience that leaves even the most ardent Porsche enthusiast breathless while at the wheel. The GT3 derived engine is blissfully engaging in any gear but truly wakes up when the engine is summoned in the higher rev range delivering exhilarating acceleration and legendary handling. And while many open cars can be windy on the highway, Porsche has done a commendable job of reducing cabin turbulence largely improved by the lower profile windshield and carbon fiber dual fairing rear body panel design. This Porsche Speedster is accompanied by a set of factory books and leather case, copies of service documents, two keys, and the original window sticker.
An absolutely unrepeatable 911 in every respect, this rare, limited edition PTS Speedster represents the very best in modern Porsche design and engineering. Hallmarking the legendary 356 and 911, this uniquely optioned, low-mile, two-owner Speedster will continue to enchant future enthusiasts seeking premium examples exemplifying the mystique and excellence rightfully attributed to the Porsche brand.
